Ohio State landed two elite 2017 prospects and the commitments came in a weird and fun way

Ohio State is lighting the recruiting world on fire.

The Ohio State Buckeyes have been doing fantastic work on the recruiting trail since the day Urban Meyer arrived in Columbus. However, the Buckeyes haven't had many days better than Aug. 22, 2016, as Ohio State picked up not one but two elite prospects with a single recruiting video.

Five-star wide receiver Tyjon Lindsey partnered with Bleacher Report in putting together a video to announce his pledge to the Buckeyes, and the video includes a dodgeball game as the method by which Lindsey broke the news. While it wasn't a shock that Lindsey would commit to Ohio State (considering the Buckeyes were favored to sign him), what came next was, indeed, a surprise.

Lindsey joined with fellow five-star wide receiver Trevon Grimes to pull a fast one on the recruiting world, as Grimes was billed as a "surprise" commitment to Ohio State. Grimes famously had a silent commitment to a program in advance of an Aug. 24 announcement date, but the talented pass catcher from Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. brought word of his Ohio State pledge early in partnership with Lindsey.

The Buckeyes now have an embarrassment of riches coming to campus as part of the 2017 recruiting class, and given the talent already on the roster, Ohio State could be scary good in the future. For now, Buckeyes fans can simply revel in the fact that they notched two top-25 national prospects... at once.
