As the 2016 season approaches, the great majority of college football experts are predicting either the Ohio State Buckeyes or the Michigan Wolverines to claim Big Ten supremacy. With that in mind, it should come as no surprise that the teams led by Urban Meyer and Jim Harbaugh were prominently featured on ESPN's preseason All-Big Ten team released on Monday.
Both the Buckeyes and Wolverines placed four players on the 22-man list, with Ohio State even adding the preseason All-B1G punter in Cameron Johnston. OSU quarterback J.T. Barrett and center Pat Elflein join Michigan wide receiver Jehu Chesson and tight end Jake Butt on the offensive side, while two players from each team (Sam Hubbard and Raekwon McMillan from Ohio State, Jourdan Lewis and Jabrill Peppers from Michigan) land on the defense.
In truth, none of the inclusions on this list are terribly shocking, as each of the eight players has received individual recognition elsewhere during the preseason. Still, it drives the point home that OSU and Michigan are the most talented teams in the league for 2016, and it will be interesting to see if that talent translates given the question marks (particularly at QB for Michigan and a lack of experience for Ohio State) on both sides.
