Ohio State running back to transfer to Akron

Ball will be eligible next season as a graduate transfer.

The Ohio State website Eleven Warriors reported on Friday that Ohio State running back Warren Ball would be transferring to Akron, and would be eligible to play immediately as a graduate transfer. Ball later confirmed his transfer on his Facebook page.

This is not a blow at all for Ohio State, and instead it is a nice gain for Akron. Ball did not play much for the Buckeyes, as he spent most of his career behind Carlos Hyde and Ezekiel Elliott. Ball may only have one year of eligibility left, but it will be interesting to see if he can bring anything that will help the smaller Akron program.
