It has been a treacherous senior season for Ohio State commit and top-50 prospect Tyjon Lindsey and, as of this weekend, his high school football career is over. Lindsey suffered a knee injury during a blowout win on Oct. 7 and it has now been diagnosed as a torn meniscus that will require surgery, per MyLVSports.com.

Prior to the official announcement, Lindsey was interviewed on camera and gave an ominous report about his knee:
In the video, Lindsey said:
"I got the news today. If I played (the season) out I might hurt it even more and I might actually tear a ligament. I don't want to risk anything right now so my decision is to try and get the surgery as soon as possible."
Just hours later, the 5-foot-9 wide receiver from Bishop Gorman (Nev.) took to Twitter to announce the end of his 2016 season.
From an Ohio State perspective, this is not devastating news, as the diagnosis should not prevent Lindsey from arriving in Columbus in a healthy position in preparation for 2017 and beyond. However, it is never a good thing to see a highly-touted prospect off the field with injury and, given that Lindsey missed the early portion of the season with a broken collarbone, 2016 is basically a wash in terms of his development.
Urban Meyer's 2017 class is incredibly loaded and that lessens the impact, but this certainly isn't the best news.
