Most recently, Johnson had also been considering Clemson and UCLA, having visited both schools in addition to Ohio State over the past couple of months. However, it looks like the Buckeyes were able to win out in the big recruiting battle.
With Johnson on board, Ohio State adds on more depth to their already stellar 2018 recruiting class. According to the 247Sports Composite, Ohio State now has eight of the Top 50 overall recruits as part of their recruiting class.
Johnson is ranked as a five-star by Rivals, which also has him ranked as the No. 1 safety of the 2018 class.
