Over the weekend, word broke that five-star 2017 wide receiver Trevon Grimes had made a "silent commitment" to a program in advance of a scheduled announcement on Aug. 24. Now, it appears that Grimes simply could not wait to declare his collegiate intentions publicly, as he took to Twitter to profess his choice of the Ohio State Buckeyes two days early.

Grimes' decision to play his college football in Columbus does not come as a surprise, as the 6-foot-3, 202-pound pass catcher was long rumored to be another gem in Urban Meyer's latest recruiting class. The senior wide receiver from Fort Lauderdale, Fla. ranks as the No. 15 overall player in the 2017 class according to 247Sports' composite rankings, and Grimes is almost universally pegged as a top-five wide receiver in this particular recruiting group.
At this point, the Buckeyes likely hold the best recruiting class in the country, with 18 committed prospects and at least eight commits who hold top-100 rankings according to various recruiting services. Meyer and his group should be commended for their lights-out work on the recruiting trail, and the Ohio State Buckeyes continue to be a national force in collecting high school talent that will one day star within the confines of The Horseshoe.
