Four-star defensive tackle Aeneas Hawkins (6-foot-3, 265 pounds, Cincinnati, OH) was originally scheduled to commit back in May, but he delayed that decision and had since released a Top 7 list featuring teams like Alabama and Ohio State.
It looks like Hawkins won't be attending either of those schools, though, as he announced on Thursday that he had committed to Penn State.

Hawkins, the son of former Cincinnati Bearcats and Bengals standout Artrell Hawkins, announced his decision in conjunction with the Players' Tribune, spoofing the recent move "Get Out". He was also considering USC, Kentucky, Pitt, and Cincinnati.
The pickup is the latest in what has been an incredible recruiting year for James Franklin and Penn State. As of press time, Penn State ranks in the Top 5 in the recruiting rankings for both ESPN and 247Sports, and the Nittany Lions had spent several months in the No. 1 spot before the decommit of current No. 1 overall recruit Justin Fields.
Hawkins ranks as a four-star by the 247Sports Composite. He is the 23rd commitment for Penn State's 2018 recruiting class.
