College football analyst predicts one team to finish the regular season undefeated

That's a bold prediction.

Former FOX Sports college football analyst and current The Athletic analyst Stewart Mandel has made some bold predictions for the upcoming season. One of them includes predicting one team to go the regular season undefeated.

Ohio State is the only team I'm predicting to finish the regular season undefeated. Taking an already loaded defense and adding Kevin Wilson as offensive coordinator — who inherits fifth-year senior QB J.T. Barrett — is a lethal formula. But Alabama will be right there behind the Buckeyes.

Ohio State opens its season on Thursday night against Indiana. The Buckeyes do have a few tough games with Oklahoma coming to see them in Week 2,a game at Nebraska in Week 7, at Iowa, Penn State at home and at Michigan to end the season. If they can survive those and not get caught looking ahead they have a strong chance to make Mandel look like a genius and get to the College Football Playoff.
