Tennessee demolishes Northwestern's defense on way to Outback Bowl win

No. 23 Tennessee (9-4) destroyed No. 13 Northwestern (10-3) 45-6 in the Outback Bowl on New Year's Day. The Vols racked up 420 total yards of offense while holding the Wildcats to 261 and forced a ton of turnovers. Four different Vols intercepted Clayton Thorson and Zack Oliver on the day with Evan Berry taking his INT back for a touchdown for the final score of the day.

Running back Jalen Hurd had 130 yards rushing with an average of 5.4 yards per carry and a touchdown on the day while Alvin Kamara chipped in 53 yards and a touchdown as well. Josh Dobbs also had 48 yards on the ground and 166 through the air to help the Volunteers get a win and free bloomin' onions for everyone at Outback tomorrow. I would call that a pretty good day.

Tennessee will undoubtedly want to take this momentum into the offseason and build off it for an even better 2016 season where it will probably be predicted to win the SEC East.
