The Urban Meyer coaching rumors won't go away.

The Michigan State Spartans' football program is sinking amid its performance this season and head coach Mel Tucker being dismissed from the program after allegations of sexual harassment. With all of this happening, Harlon Barnett was named as the interim head coach, and the team is 2-3 on the season and 0-2 in the Big Ten.
Apparently, there have been some reports of the program potentially pursuing Urban Meyer, former head coach at Bowling Green, Utah, Florida Gators, Ohio State Buckeyes and Jacksonville Jaguars. However, The Athletic's Bruce Feldman is refuting that.
About the “reports” linking Urban Meyer to the Michigan State HC job… I just checked with him. There is zero truth to it with him being a candidate for it. He has no interest in that, and is happy with what he’s doing now at Fox Sports.

"About the 'reports' linking Urban Meyer to the Michigan State HC job... I just checked with him. There is zero truth to it with him being a candidate for it. He has no interest in that, and is happy with what he's doing now at Fox Sports," Feldman said.
As Feldman points out, Meyer is currently an analyst for Fox Sports, appearing on "Big Noon Kickoff."
During a recent segment on ESPN's "College GameDay," a video board that offered up randomized questions asked the crew who they think should be the next head coach. At first, Pat McAfee points over to Duke Blue Devils head coach Mike Elko, to which he gives a thumbs-down.
Then, Rece Davis suggests Matt Campbell from Iowa State or Jeff Monken from Army. Then, McAfee, of course, suggests Rich Rodriguez, his head coach when he played college football at West Virginia and who's currently coaching Jacksonville State.

One thing's for sure: Whoever takes over the reins as the head football coach at Michigan State has a lot of cleaning up and rebuilding to do.
