According to reporter Ollie Connolly: "Belichick has agreed to become the next UNC coach. Belichick handed the school a 400 page 'organizational bible' with structure, payment plans, staffing choices etc. decisions on whether to commit with UNC. He is expected to know their decision within 24 hours."

Now the college football world awaits UNC's decision, to see if they will agree as well.

All in all, Belichick, 72, may be overqualified for the job as he is the second-most winningest coach in NFL history (No. 1 Don Shula- 347 wins), posting a 302-165 record (.647) in the regular season and 31-13 record (.705) in the postseason.

That is to say, this decision for Belichick to coach some 18-22 year olds comes as a surprise to many. Although, it may be a full-circle moment as his father, Steve Belichick, coached at North Carolina in 1953-1955.

While on Monday's episode of the Pat McAfee Show, Belichick spoke on what a college team would look like under his regime.

"It would be a professional program at the college level."

"I feel very confident that I have the contacts in the National Football League to pave the way for those players that would have the ability to have the opportunity to compete in the National Football League, whether they're good enough or not, I don't know... but they would be ready for it, I don't have any doubt about that."

Certainly this may be enticing for recruits, as they can view playing for the former Patriots coach as a stepping stone to the NFL.

As for the chances of Belichick being named the next head coach at UNC, it appears to be almost a done deal.

Even Belichick's 24-year-old girlfriend, Jordon Hudson, recently followed North Carolina football pages on Instagram, and has shown support for her legendary NFL coach boyfriend taking the job.
