Boston Celtics’ Derrick White Got Into a Scuffle During Colorado Football Game

NBA Champion Derrick White seemingly switched sports overnight after video captured him taking a shot to the head.

White was attacked by CSU fan during rivalry game

The incident occurred during Saturday's college football rivalry game between Colorado and Colorado State. White, a University of Colorado alumni, was in the stands at a hostile Canvas Stadium to support his alma mater when he reportedly got into a "verbal spat" with some CSU fans. Video obtained by TMZ shows a fan swinging their arm at the Celtics guard so hard that his hat came flying off. Visibly upset, White looks to continue the scuffle before several fans and law enforcement stepped in.

On Monday, CSU released a statement saying they were aware of White's role in the viral clip. However, they say no official police report was filed in relation to the incident. Furthermore, they claim that no injuries had been reported in connection with any potential crowd disturbance during the game. White's team has not been made available for comment.

White was a member of CU's men's basketball program during the 2016-17 NCAA season.

Shedeur Sanders had some words for CSU's quarterback after game

Bad blood between White's alma mater and their in-state rivals runs deeper than petty fan interactions. Earlier this week Colorado State quarterback Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi taunted the Buffs on Instagram for their apparent prioritizing of online attention, saying "We'll see how far Instagram followers gets them."

After their 28-9 victory, Colorado's Shedeur Sanders made sure to let CSU know that he heard the noise. When Fowler-Nicolosi offered a postgame handshake, Sanders refused and threw some of his own taunts.

"You were talking s-t on Instagram," Sanders could be heard saying in a video of the exchange. "Talking on Instagram. We handled our business. You can't f-k with me."
