Pat McAfee brought out Daniel Villasenor, a civil engineering major at Cal-Berkley, to participate in his $100,000 field goal challenge on College Gameday.

Before the kick, Villasenor said his experience includes playing soccer and kicking a football a few times. McAfee and Kirk Herbstreit weren't convinced he'd be the one to nail the 33-yard kick, particularly because of his footwear. Herbstreit in particular was nearly laughing at the fact that he was wearing Vans while attempting the kick.
His first kick veered right, but inspired the crew to feel far more confident that he could drill it on his second chance. That's when Daniel sent it directly over the middle of the crossbar to secure the $100,000 and add another $100,000 to the Hurricane Helene relief fund that ESPN was already contributing $500,000 to.

Everyone went wild when they saw Daniel pull it off. McAfee let out a "hell yeah" in the celebration while Herbie couldn't believe a kid wearing Vans could achieve that type of kick.
Fans quickly praised the college student on social media. One X user commented, "Daniel making the kick on @CollegeGameday was the moment I didn't know I needed this Saturday. Let's go!"
Daniel from Cal lined up and got the place even more pumped after nailing the College Gameday field goal challenge.
Another X account added, "Daniel's a legend for making that field goal."
This is the first time that the ESPN program has hosted its College Gameday show at the campus. Early on, it seems that this was the right move by the company as the students and fans have made a great showing in their debut. It also doesn't hurt that the day was opened up with this epic College Gameday field goal challenge success.
California will put its 3-1 record on the line as they play host to the undefeated No. 8 Miami Hurricanes.
