Michigan has landed yet another recruit right in a Big Ten rival’s territory as outside linebacker Cameron McGrone out of Indiana has committed to the Wolverines. He took to Twitter to make the announcement:
Here’s an excerpt from the tweet:
“I’d like to thank the coaches of all 21 football football programs that saw my potential and extending me a scholarship to play for them. It was truly an honor to get to know all of you.
Lastly, I want to thank my Grandfather, James McGrone, who is no longer with us.He was my role model and my biggest fan, and I hope I’m making him proud.
With that being said, I will be furthering my academic and football career at…
THE UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN! #GoBlue”
He told 247Sports that “it’s a true honor” to commit to Michigan and that he “still can’t believe it. It’s really honorable to call myself a Wolverine.”
The 6’1”, 215-pound OLB is ranked as the No. 3 player at his position and No. 1 recruit in the state by 247Sports’ own rankings. He also had offers from Notre Dame, Louisville, Maryland, Nebraska, Tennessee and Wisconsin among others.
