Cameron McGrone was at the Notre Dame Irish Invasion camp this weekend and he came away with some pretty incredible feedback from the Fighting Irish staff. He has become one of the program's most coveted recruits and it's easy to see why when you hear what they've been telling McGrone.
He told 247Sports that the staff made it pretty clear they are looking for a linebacker like him and it also sounded like he could make an immediate impact should he end up in South Bend.
"The vibe was definitely love and I could feel that they have somewhat of a need for me. heard a couple times that they have a lot of MIKE type backers but no true BUCK. They said I'm that guy and they need me. That was a stress. And the love was obvious. Felt like family around them."
The 6'1", 215-pound linebacker spent time with head coach Brian Kelly as well as three other coaches so you know Notre Dame really likes this kid. McGrone went on to say that he enjoyed his two days there and that his family loved it too.
He's ranked as the No. 9 outside linebacker by 247Sports' own rankings and the top recruit in Indiana. He also holds offers from Tennessee, Wisconsin, Iowa, Louisville, Maryland and Nebraska among others. The 247Sports crystal has nine predictions for him and all point to Notre Dame as of now.
Here's some of his highlights:
