If you are looking for a Playoff dark horse, look no further than the ACC Coastal division.
CBS personalities Dennis Dodd and Rick Neuheisel are in agreement on one thing: Virginia Tech is a real Playoff dark horse that no one is talking about right now.
The Hokies are 4-1 and ranked No. 17 in the AP Poll, so they aren't completely off the radar right now. However, they have been rather lacking in attention thanks to the Battle at Bristol loss to Tennessee in Week 2 of the season. Since then, Virginia Tech has been fantastic, with their most recent 34-3 win over North Carolina being one of the most impressive performances in college football this season.

Can Virginia Tech actually make the Playoff, though? Absolutely. Their remaining schedule is very light, and they get their toughest remaining game (vs. No. 16 Miami) at home. Winning out would put them in the ACC Championship Game, and a win there over a highly ranked Clemson or Louisville team would certainly give them enough to get in.
Are they good enough to upset a Clemson or Louisville, though? That is yet to be seen.
