Charles Woodson's Whiskey is the First Spirit Sponsor at the University of Michigan

Charles Woodson is Michigan through and through, so it only makes sense that his company, Woodson Whiskey, would become the first-ever spirit sponsor at the University. The 1997 Heisman Trophy winner expressed how this new partnership only furthers how proud he is to be an alum.

In the press release, Woodston mentioned the words he lived by every day while in college, "Those who stay will be champions." He said that after leaving, he didn't have the answer as to what's next until this moment, "Those who come back will be champions once again."

He has made sure to live by that motto throughout the creation and execution of Woodson Whiskey. He founded the company in 2021. Along with being a sponsor at his alma mater, the brand also is a sponsor with the NFL club he thrived with, the Las Vegas Raiders. In addition to whiskey, Woodson also has a wine company in his portfolio.

When he launched his whiskey, Michigan was the first state to offer distribution. At the time, he told Grand Rapids Magazine that the state has "always supported me in whatever I have done" so it only made sense to start there.

"The fans know that I do not just put my name on anything, so I am eager to get back to Michigan and share with you my latest creation," he said to the outlet.

The spirit will be available at the Big House as early as this weekend when the No. 10 team in the country plays host to No. 3 Texas. Woodson will be in attendance, per Woodson Whiskey's press release.

The collection that Woodson Whiskey offers is fitting to his background. He offers a 65th Anniversary Limited Edition Raiders Commemorative Bottle with his likeness on it. There's a Team 144 Michigan bottle along with a Blue and Maize signature series. He has a Green and Gold series (Green Bay Packers) and White & Silver series (Las Vegas Raiders) that both pay homage to his NFL teams.

Woodson was and remains the only defensive player to win a Heisman Trophy. He was a nine-time Pro Bowler and four-time All-Pro First-Team selection in the NFL after being chosen No. 4 overall in the 1998 Draft. He was inducted into both the college and pro football Hall of Fame.
