Colorado Head Coach Deion Sanders Makes Final Call on Shedeur Sanders, Travis Hunter's Future

After a convincing 52-0 win over Oklahoma State, the 25th-ranked Colorado Buffaloes are in position to qualify for the Big 12 title game. If that were to happen, and the Buffaloes win, Colorado would be in a firm position to qualify for a bowl game this season.

Deion Sanders Gets Honest on Shedeur, Travis Hunter

With several of Colorado's stars, most notably Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter, primed to enter the NFL Draft, many wondered if they would play in a potential bowl game, especially with the NFL Combine approaching.

But Buffaloes' head coach Deion Sanders says his players will finish what they started.

"Our kids are going to play in our bowl game because that's what we signed up to do and we're going to finish," Sanders said. "We're not going to tap out, because that throws off the structure of next season."

Colorado's Travis Hunter Responds to Kirby Smart

At the end of the season, the College Football Playoff selection committee will select twelve teams to play for the National Championship. But unfortunately, that means several worthy contenders will be left on the outside looking in. With Colorado currently ranked 25th in the nation, they could end up on either side of that window. That decision will solely be left up to the committee.

While record and strength of schedule can certainly aid a teams chances at making the final twelve, it doesn't guarantee it. Nobody actually knows what criteria are used to make the selections.

Earlier this week, Georgia's Kirby Smart expressed his disdain for the selection process.

"I don't know what they're looking for. I really don't," Smart said, via On3 Sports. "I wish they could really define the criteria. I wish they could do the eyeball test where they come down here and look at the people we're playing against and look at them. And you can't see that stuff on TV. So I don't know what they look for, but that's for somebody else to decide.

The quote seemed to be a dig at Colorado who had been accused of receiving favorable treatment because of head coach Deion Sanders' notoriety.

However, Colorado star Travis Hunter had a counterargument.

"I'm not the committee,Hunter said. "I can't tell the committee what to do. I guess he could try to put input in, but I really can't do anything about it. Georgia plays good football. God has a plan, and man, and the committee, they control it, but God has a plan ... If other teams lose, they could clearly be in the College Football Playoff. Georgia's a real good team ... They've got to keep playing, not worry about all of that."
