Colorado Head Football Coach Deion Sanders Partnered With Local Bank To Bless All The Players On His Team That Have Kids

Ahead of Week 1 of the college football season, University of Colorado head coach Deion Sanders, otherwise known as 'coach Prime,' made an announcement to all of the players on his team, who are currently fathers. By partnering with Elevations Credit Union, they will be opening up bank accounts for each of their children.

Earlier last week, the NFL Hall of Famer Sanders tweeted out that he was looking for a bank that would team up with him and some of his players, and now evidently the purpose of this can be concluded.

Before making the good news announcement during a practice meeting, coach Prime called out all the players on the team, who had kids, as he then spoke on the importance of taking on the role and responsibility of being a fatherly figure.

"Want y'all to know ain't like y'all in trouble," Sanders said. "You ain't done nothing wrong. Matter of fact you did something right. And a child is not a mistake. A child is an opportunity to mature you, grow you, advance you and give you some skills..."

"So y'all know how I am about fathering, and you know I would not hire a coach unless he's a great father. I don't hire a coach as a dead beat. I don't hire coaches not taking care of his responsibilities... I would never hire a man that say he's going to look after y'all, but he won't look after his. That don't make sense to me."

"Coach Prime put out that call, and Elevations Credit Union responded," the spokesperson from the bank said in front of the team. "Coach Prime asked us to step up and to join him today in opening up accounts for the children for some of the student athletes that he just appreciates so much."

Even more, each of the accounts will start off with $2,121 (in honor of Sanders' #21 jersey number) to help kickstart the financial security of the players' future generations.

In view of the on-the-field play, despite a promising start in coach Prime's first year as head coach of the Buffaloes, Colorado finished with a 4-8 record last season.

That is to say, with a new recruiting class, and being led by the coach's son at quarterback, Shedeur Sanders, there is much hope for the upcoming 2024 season, as the team is set to take on the North Dakota State Bison on Thursday, August 29 at 8:00 pm ET (ESPN).
