The No. 2 recruit in the 2025 ESPN class, quarterback Julian Lewis, has committed to play for the Colorado Buffaloes. That is to say, with Shedeur Sanders headed to the NFL, head coach Deion Sanders may have found the team's future star QB.

"I'm excited for the opportunity to get to work and compete," Lewis said while on ESPN. "Colorado wasn't recruiting me until I reclassed, so it really was perfect timing. This is only the beginning. I trust Coach Prime and [offensive coordinator Pat] Shurmur to help me become the player that I want to be."

Lewis was formerly a part of the 2026 recruiting class and committed to USC, however now that he reclassified to be apart of the 2025 class, he has also changed schools.
That is, ahead of the early signing period, which opens on December 4, Lewis plans to enroll early with the Colorado program in January, sources tell ESPN.

To note, Lewis now joins offensive tackle Jordan Seaton and cornerback Cormani McClain, who were the other five-star prospects that committed to Colorado since Sanders took over the head coaching position after the 2022 season.

Notably, Lewis will be the highest recruit to sign with Colorado since Darrell Scott, who was the No. 9 overall prospect in the 2008 class.
In view of the young QB's potential, Lewis threw for 531 yards and five touchdowns while playing in the Georgia high school state championship game as a Freshman. In 39 career games, he has thrown for over 10,000 yards while also racking up 136 touchdowns.
The now 17-year-old will become the head signal caller starting next season for the Buffaloes, who are currently ranked No. 16 in the country and first in the Big-12 with a 8-2 record.
