Colorado Star Travis Hunter Wears Shirt Taking Shot at Richard Sherman

The Colorado Buffaloes may be unranked. But they do have some of the biggest stars in the nation on their rosters. But the most unique star of them all has to be junior standout, Travis Hunter.

Travis Hunter Takes Another Shot at Richard Sherman

Ahead of the Buffaloes matchup against UCF, Hunter took a shot at Super Bowl-winning cornerback Richard Sherman who called him "bland" earlier this week. During pre-game warmups, Hunter wore a shirt with the word "Bland," across the chest

That led to plenty of reactions on social media.

"Most overrated person in college football," one person said on X, formerly known as Twitter.

"He's better than Sherman at both positions," another added.

"Sherman could shut him down in his prime," another said.

Deion Sanders Arranged Meeting Between Football Stars

There is a lot to love about Hunter, who is expected to be one of the top picks in the upcoming NFL Draft. But his biggest draw is that he is elite at two positions as he plays cornerback and wide receiver. But not everyone sees it that way.

Earlier this week Super Bowl-winning cornerback Richard Sherman said that as a wide receiver, Hunter is pretty "bland."

"As a receiver, he's kinda bland," Sherman said. "I think he goes as a corner just because receivers his size... he's not a special size, super dynamic route runner. He's a great athlete and he's smooth so he can get it done. I'm sure if he focused on receiver he could be elite, but as a corner, he just looks natural."

Hunter appeared to take exception to the Seattle Seahawks' legends comments about him. He took to social media to repost the video on his story, blasting Sherman saying: "Stop speaking on me, let me play football!"

Colorado coach and NFL Hall of Fame quarterback Deion Sanders arranged a meeting via phone between Sherman and Hunter after the exchange. Although they hashed things out, Hunter admitted he was initially hurt because Sherman was someone he grew up idolizing.

"It hurt me because I look up to him. He didn't mean for it to go out that way. I grew up watching him, I modeled my game around him. He apologized to me," he said.
