Danny Kanell fired the only shot necessary at the CFP committee using an Urban Meyer quote

My guess is, he feels differently now.

The College Football Playoff field was announced on Sunday, and there was some controversy involving the inclusion of Ohio State as opposed to Big 10 champion Penn State.

ESPN college football analyst Danny Kanell took issue with the Buckeyes making the field over the Nittany Lions, and he tweeted out a quote from Urban Meyer from 2006.

The Meyer quote stemmed from the 2006 season where, ironically, undefeated Ohio State had beaten previously undefeated Michigan to secure the Big 10 championship. The BCS had to choose between one-loss Michigan or one-loss SEC champion Florida, whom Urban Meyer coached at the time. Florida was selected over Michigan, and the Gators walloped the Buckeyes 41-14 in the National Championship Game.

Meyer's words didn't come back to haunt him as his Buckeyes earned the three seed in this year's playoff field. If Ohio State wins the national title this year, they would become the second team in the last six seasons to win a national title without winning a conference title (Alabama in 2011).
