Four-star linebacker DaShaun White makes in-state commitment to where his “heart wants to be”

This will make one school happy.

DaShaun White's recruiting process has been interesting for quite some time but, on Sunday, the talented 2018 linebacker made his commitment choice known. At the end of the day, the 6-foot-1, 222-pound linebacker will be heading to College Station to join Kevin Sumlin and the Texas A&M Aggies.

White ranks as one of the 25 best outside linebacker prospects in the country according to the 247Sports composite and he will be staying in-state after coming out of North Richland Hills. In speaking to Greg Powers of Scout, White shed light on his thought process behind the decision.

"It came down a lot to the relationships I have built. I am already comfortable with a lot of players that are there. Anthony Hines being the most. I am really comfortable with those guys. It comes down to being comfortable going to war with people that are there already.

"To play for 'Chief' — or to play for Coach (John) Chavis (Texas A&M Defensive Coordinator) is a huge honor. To have the opportunity to get over there and play earl is really big, to get in the SEC and lay early. I'm just ready to go."

And, as always, Sumlin confirmed the commitment in his special way.

DaShaun White won't be on campus for a while but, when he arrives, Texas A&M will be adding an interesting and talented piece to the mix.
