The BCS once gave us a rematch in the national title game, as Alabama and LSU faced off for the title in 2012. It's only a matter of time before something similar happens in the College Football Playoff.
Well, what time is better than now? Both USA Today and Mark Schlabach of ESPN think that Michigan and Ohio State will make the Playoff, meaning that one of college football's biggest rivalries could get a rematch in either the semifinal or for the national championship.
We have seen rematches within a season before, as conference title games can be a cause for that. However, how would people react to seeing a rematch in the Playoff, and further, how would they react when the "season series" gets tied at one apiece?

The reason that matters is because a lot of people weren't happy about that Alabama and LSU pairing a few years ago. Considering the Playoff involves four teams instead of two like the old BCS, would people be more accepting of a national championship being a regular season rematch? Maybe even a better question to ask here: will the committee toss a team out of two equals just to avoid a regular season rematch?
Looks like we have at least a couple of months to figure that one out.
