ESPN expert Mark Schlabach walked away impressed by one college football conference specifically, and it's just not the one that most had predicted.

With Alabama the only ranked squad out of the SEC impressing in Week 1, Schlabach dropped LSU and Tennessee completely out of contention. In the ACC, Clemson didn't do much better, narrowly escaping with a win over Auburn and Florida State has yet to play (they'll play Monday night against Ole Miss).
With that said, here's Schlabach's rankings:
1. Alabama
2. Houston
3. Michigan
4. Ohio State
The Crimson Tide slipped past USC in a blowout and Houston showed it belongs among college football's contenders with an upset of Oklahoma.
Not sure Michigan or Ohio State belong over Florida State after taking care of business as usual against teams they were supposed to beat.
We'll see how the Seminoles fare against the Rebels with Stanford lurking as a true sleeper contender.
