You won't believe where ESPN is experimenting with camera placement for football games

ESPN is looking to use a new camera angle for their football games this season. They already have a camera zooming over the field on wires, several on the sidelines, and a couple more in the end zones. Where else could they possibly stick a camera? How about in the pylons at the four corners of the end zones?

ESPN wants to put cameras in the pylons to capture video from multiple angles. They plan on putting a few cameras in each pylon to cover the area along the sideline, along the end zone line, and into the end zone itself.

The pylon cams have already been tested once in the College Football Playoff Championship back in January and will see more use in NFL preseason games, specially on Monday Night Football in the Bengals vs Buccaneers game.
