ESPN names this school as the top job in college football

No. 1 is pretty obvious, but No. 3 on this list was certainly a surprise.

If you have been following college football for the past several years, this should come as no surprise.

ESPN took a look at which job would be the best one should all head coaching positions open up, and they came to the obvious conclusion: Alabama is the best head coaching spot in college football. The four-letter network cited Alabama's recent recruiting success as a major factor, as Alabama as averaged 1.7 in ESPN's recruiting rankings over the past eight seasons.

Taking second on the list is Ohio State, who can tout similar recruiting success. Perhaps the biggest surprise on their list was No. 3 though, as ESPN put Texas at that spot. While the Longhorns just is a pretty coveted job in college football, the recent years under Charlie Strong have proven that being the Texas head coach is not as easy as it looks. Considering the competition that Texas now has in-state from Texas A&M, TCU, and Baylor, it actually seems absurd to put them at No. 3 under the constraints of "what if every job opened tomorrow".

USC and Florida State rounded out the Top 5 of the list. The full Top 15 can be view on ESPN's website (Insider only).
