Via an ESPN press release on Wednesday, the College GameDay crew will open the 2016 in Green Bay on Sept. 3, where they will be on-site for the matchup between Wisconsin and LSU. The show will begin at 9:00 a.m., and it will be GameDay's first ever visit to Lambeau Field.

"Lambeau Field is hailed as a football shrine and is as special of a venue as the game of football has to offer," said ESPN senior producter Lee Fitting.
Co-host Kirk Herbstreit leaked that the show was likely heading to Green Bay back in June, but this announcement serves to make everything official. Per ESPN's release, it will be the sixth time that GameDay has done a matchup between SEC and Big Ten teams. The SEC is 5-0 in those games so far.

As for where GameDay could go in Week 2? The current favorite would be another first for the crew: Bristol Motor Speedway for a matchup between Virginia Tech and Tennessee. That game is expected to draw one of the highest — if not the highest — attendance for a single game in college football history.
