ESPN predicts destination for five-star DE K.J. Henry

A big prediction by ESPN.

Defensive end K.J. Henry ranks as the No. 5 prospect of the 2018 class according to ESPN and, across the board, he is seen as a five-star recruit. With that in mind, the talented defensive end has received a ton of attention and intrigue when it comes to his college choice, to the point where the worldwide leader has predicted his final destination in print.

Gerry Hamilton and Tom VanHaaren of ESPN project the 6'6", 235-pound senior to land with the Clemson Tigers, with the rationale below.

Henry has a top five that consists of Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, South Carolina and Virginia Tech. The five-star prospect will take his official visits to those five schools and then make his decision once his visits are over. Clemson has seemingly been the team to beat for awhile, although Henry has not come out and said as much. He even jokes about knowing everyone thinks the Tigers are out in front.

This follows the "Crystal Ball" trend on 247Sports, in which Clemson is a massive favorite to land Henry's commitment. Still, having programs like Alabama and Georgia in the mix certainly makes things (very) interesting and there is plenty of time for Henry to flip the script.

However, Henry does want to enroll early, meaning that his final choice will have to come a little bit earlier than some of his 2018 counterparts. Clemson looks to be in the driver's seat but it is far from a lock, even with this prediction. Stay tuned.
