A sign of a healthy college football program is good facilities. It shows that the program is drawing money, and in return, it helps draw recruits to your team and fans to the games on Saturdays.
Well, ESPN named the teams with the top facilities in each conference, and it should come as no surprise that all of the ones listed have been on top of college football recently. Here is how they picked, listed as best first and an honorable mention as second.
ACC: Clemson, Florida State
Big Ten: Ohio State, Michigan
Big 12: Oklahoma, Texas
Pac-12: Oregon, USC
SEC: Texas A&M, Alabama
Two of the big pieces of note here are Oregon and Texas A&M getting the nod in their respective conferences. It seems like Oregon has completely surpassed USC as the resident powerhouse in the Pac-12, while Texas A&M is benefiting from a nearly half-billion dollar renovation to Kyle Field.
Either way, the tale of the tape here is that four of these schools have won national titles in the past decade, with the Crimson Tide hogging nearly half of them. Oregon, Clemson, and Oklahoma may not have won titles, but they competed in at least one national title game over that same time frame. Clearly it's good to have money if you are a college football program.
