ESPN's first FPI rankings had Ohio State pegged as the top team in the land and that's the case again in their latest rankings. However, the margin has grown between Ohio State and all the other teams behind the Buckeyes.
Here are the top 20 teams according to ESPN's FPI:
Last time the Buckeyes were at 28.9 and while they "only" went up to 29.0, that's still a big deal considering the margin between them and everyone else. It likely has something to do with the fact that powerhouses Alabama and Florida State each are projected to lose two games on the season while OSU is only supposed to lose one.

Auburn might be a bit of a surprise at No. 5 as LSU, Clemson, Penn State, Washington and Wisconsin round out the top ten. While Clemson lost a lot on defense and their quarterback in Deshaun Watson, Dabo Swinney has proven he knows how to restock and reload a team so a projection of three losses might be on the high side for this team.
