Fans Erupt Online After Upset of The Year As Vanderbilt Dethrones No. 1 Alabama

All eyes were on the University of Alabama Crimson Tide on Saturday. After surrendering a huge double-digit advantage against Georgia last weekend, and still remaining atop the rankings, fans were interested to see how they would redeem themselves. And it turns out the rankings committee got it wrong.

Fans Erupt After Vandy Defeats Alabama

The Crimson Tide went down on the road against the Commodores to dethrone the number one team in the country, handing them their first loss of the season. As expected fans went wild with reactions on Twitter.

"Watching Alabama's downfall has been oh so sweet," one fan said on X, formerly known as Twitter.

"The biggest shock from Alabama losing is their lack of composure at the end. That's worrisome," another fan added.

Other fans noted that the Georgia Bulldogs were probably especially disappointed after narrowly completing a comeback in Tuscaloosa last weekend.

"Now Georgia has to be really pissed because they could've beaten Alabama last week and they couldn't do it," another fan noted.

Vanderbilt Fans Call Out Nick Saban

Despite Vanderbilt being unranked, there was a lot of hype surrounding the clash between the Commodores and the Crimson Tide. Largely due to the comments made by legendary Alabama Coach Nick Saban.

Earlier this year Saban called out the Vanderbilt fans, noting it was one of the more easier college football stadiums to win in.

"The only place you're going to play in the SEC that's not hard to play, Vanderbilt. When you play at Vanderbilt, you have more fans there than they have, and that's no disrespect to them, it's the truth," Saban said.

Of course, After Alabama lost to Vanderbilt in the Commodores' stadium, fans were asking Nick Saban to keep that same energy.

"I would love to hear Nick Saban's take on this game," one fan joked.

"Bet Nick Saban wishes he had not said, playing Vanderbilt is like being a home game with more fans. In Nashville," another fan added.

"What was that dumb shit Nick Saban said about playing at Vanderbilt," another fan said.
