Day, Freeman Get Honest About Pre-Game Messages

With each team having just one game to earn the right to be called National Champs, emotions are at an all-time high. While many people might expect that the head coaches would have strong messages to send to their respective teams ahead of Monday night's clash, they said there is nothing left to be said at this talk. Now it's up to their players to let their play on the field do the talking.

"You've got to do what we've done, and you've got to do it better," Notre Dame head coach Marcus Freeman said. "We're facing a great opponent. You're in the national championship game. You might say it with a little passion. The natural emotions will come out in that moment."

"Being in the locker room is a special moment. It is," Ohio State head coach Ryan Day said. "But you all of a sudden can't just like ramp a guy up in the last second to get a guy to go play really, really hard. It's a buildup that usually starts 48 hours out to get your body, your soul, your mind ready to go play in a game like this."
