The Colorado Buffaloes did not qualify for the College Football Playoff. But they did give fans one of the most entertaining seasons in recent memory. A big reason for that was Buffaloes' star Travis Hunter, who was one of the most unreal talents that the game has ever seen. Hunter, playing both wide receiver and cornerback was elite at both positions this season.

Fans Livid After Travis Hunter Claims Heisman Award
As one of he biggest stars in college football this season, Hunter was selected as one of the finalists for the Heisman Award, the highest honor in the sport. And on Saturday he claimed his prize after being named the 2024 Heisman winner. After the announcement was made, fans weighed in with their reactions on social media.
"This has to be the first player to win the Heisman that doesn't lead his position in anything," fans said on X, formerly known as Twitter.
"Rigged! Jeanty is better and Hunter didn't deserve it!!" another fan said.
As a receiver, Hunter registered 92 receptions and 14 touchdowns. As a defender, he had a coverage grade of 90.9 which is second among all cornerbacks in college football.
Jerry Jones Gets Honest on Deion Sanders
Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders has indeed built a powerhouse at Colorado.
Buffaloes stars Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders are both expected to be among the top picks in the 2025 NFL Draft. However, with both players headed to the league, some wonder if, Sanders could be another potential domino that could fall if the opportunity to join a bigger program (*cough* Florida State) presented itself.
But some feel that Coach Prime could have his sights set even higher and leave for the NFL. And with his son set to be one of the top picks and the Dallas Cowboys' struggles continuing, some think that it's possible that he could be the next man up for his former team. Earlier this week Cowboys owner Jerry Jones had high praise for the Colorado Coach.
"One of his greatest skills, that he really brings to college, is that he almost has no peer as far as being a recruiter. Kids want to come play for him. And he has a way of selling that," Jones said.
"That is one skill, that recruiting skill, that is not a huge prerequisite for NFL coaches. One of his greatest values is in that area of putting the team together and getting great talent to come play for him there at Colorado."
