Fans Tear Down Uprights, March it Down Broadway After Vanderbilt Dethrones No.1 Alabama

The Alabama Crimson Tide surrendered a huge lead to the Georgia Bulldogs last week. But they were able to escape Tuscaloosa with a victory. And after defeating second-ranked Georgia they went from the number four team in the country to the number one.

Vanderbilt Fans Tear Down Uprights After Huge Win Over Alabama

But still, after surrendering a twenty-point plus lead against the Bulldogs at home, some fans were still putting the Crimson Tide under a microscope. That criticism was justified after Alabama fell to the unranked Vanderbilt Commodores in Week 6. After a huge win by the Commodores, Vandy fans rushed the field, even tearing down the field goal uprights, which led to fan reactions on Twitter.

"Keep it up. You'll never have a bigger W in your life," one fan said on X, formerly known as Twitter.

"I've never understood this," another fan added.

But the upright party didn't end inside of Vanderbilt's stadium. Fans actually marched the uprights out of the stadium and appeared to be taking it to Broadway to continue the celebration.

Ryan Williams Has Another Huge Performance

It may have been a huge loss for the Crimson Tide. But Alabama's Ryan Williams continues to turn heads with his performance.

The 17-year-old freshman sensation had another huge touchdown in crunchtime again mossing two defenders to cut the Commodores' nine-point lead to three in the third quarter.

Overall, Williams finished with 3 receptions for 82 yards and a touchdown. The Crimson Tide star is catching the eyes of everyone, even other fellow college football stars. Colorado Buffaloes quarterback Shedeur Sanders, who is expected to be among the top picks in the upcoming NFL Draft, had high praise for the freshman star.

"That receiver is crazy bro," Sanders said on his 2Legendary podcast.

"This guy making all these plays, he has to do it in the game. He got to. Because in the (video) game it was sick. But he's actually able to do that. I'm happy for him that he's able to shine in his first year. I feel like he's going to be a great receiver."

As for the Crimson Tide, they won't have much time to hang their heads and will have to lick their wounds quickly. They have another SEC clash with the South Carolina Gamecocks next weekend.
