ESPN's Paul Finebaum has had enough with the College Football Playoff committee.
The venerable football analyst was on ESPN's Playoff show after the unveiling of the new rankings, and he had quite a stern message for the committee. Finebaum wasn't particular upset at one team's rankings, but instead that after several weeks, he still had no idea what the committee valued while assembling the rankings.

"I just really want to have a better understanding," Finebaum said. "It's fun to have this conversation, but why can't this committee give us a road map. We have mock conversations in the off season... But this is the most critical time of the year in college football, when millions of college football fans are looking and arguing. This is now the third or fourth week in a row that I just don't fully feel that [the committee] is being fully fair to us as football fans."
Finebaum made the comments just after committee chairman Kirby Hocutt had appeared on ESPN before him, and apparently Finebaum was unsatisfied with Hocutt's answers about the rankings.
And to be fair, Finebaum had a point. When pressed for answers, Hocutt reverted to the same answers of "The committee is impressed with [Team x]", etc. Considering how complex this situation is, it makes sense that Hocutt might not have all the answers for every team. However, he should have some real insights into what the committee is looking for and why some teams are ranked above others.
