The first five-star to commit post 2017 National Signing Day is Ricky Slade (5-foot-9, 195 pounds, Woodbridge, Va.), the nation's No. 1 all-purpose back according to 247Sports. On Friday, Slade made a splash by announcing his commitment to Penn State.

Slade also had offers from Florida, Ohio State, and Tennessee, among others. He ranks as the No. 24 overall recruit of the 2018 recruiting cycle according to 247Sports.
Slade is the second five-star in Penn State's 2018 class, and he is the the 10th commitment overall.
