It may be the spring, but that doesn't mean we still don't have time for shocking college football news.
That's what we got from five-star defensive end Joshua Kaindoh (6-foot-6, 256 pounds, Bradenton, FL), as the high-profile 2017 recruit announced a shocking commitment to Maryland.
This is a huge pickup for first-year coach D.J. Durkin, who is inheriting the program after Randy Edsall was fired midway through the 2015 season. Kaindoh is the seventh commitment of Maryland's 2017 class, which currently ranks 20th in the nation over at 247Sports.
In a vacuum, Kaindoh committing to Maryland isn't too shocking; originally from that state, Kaindoh had been favorite the Terrapins. However, getting a five-star recruit is another whole deal, as Kaindoh didn't even place Maryland in his Top 4 just ten days ago.
Looks like Maryland is gearing up to make an impact in the Big Ten in the future.
