There is plenty of interest in the recruiting process of five-star 2018 defensive end K.J. Henry and it is easy to see why. The 6'5, 235-pound defender from West Forsyth High School (N.C.) ranks as one of the top 20 prospects in the country according to the 247Sports composite and, with that, Henry lands as the No. 2 defensive end nationally. With that said, Henry shed light on his recruitment this week by releasing a top 10 list and it came with a stunning program included.

Henry's suprising inclusion was the Charlotte 49ers, and they are joined by (alphabetical order) Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, Louisville, Ohio State, Penn State, Pittsburgh, South Carolina, and Virginia Tech. At first blush, it seems absolutely insane that Charlotte would be in the mix for a player of this caliber, but Henry's father is on the staff for Charlotte, which should help to justify the inclusion.
Elsewhere, the list features a smattering of the best programs in the country and names like Nick Saban and Urban Meyer will be sure to keep tabs on Henry in the near future. At this point, it would be aggressive to project a "leader" for his services but there will be plenty of time for Henry to evaluate each of the ten options in full. Yes, even Charlotte.
