Alabama and UCLA were the biggest threats to land Davis outside of the Buckeyes, but it looks like Ohio State and Urban Meyer's crew were able to land the big fish. That is particularly impressive considering the Buckeyes weren't even in his Top 15 just two months ago.
Davis had 27 total offers at the FBS level. He is Ohio State's 14 commitment for the 2017 class, and he is their third highest-rated commit according to 247Sports. The commit helps Ohio State strengthen its lead in the class of 2017 recruiting rankings.
