Nation's No. 2 RB Cam Akers recaps his visit to Florida State

Could he be the guy to replace Dalvin Cook in Tallahassee?

Basically every school in the country is after five-star running back Cam Akers (5-foot-11, 212 pounds, Clinton, Ms.). Florida State is included in this mix, and Akers is fresh off of his visit to FSU, which he visited late last month with his mother. Akers recapped his visit with 247Sports, and it sounds like things went pretty well in Tallahassee.

"The dorms, the campus, the women," Akers said when 247Sports asked what he liked most about the visit. "Everything was just nice. It was all good in general. It was my first time really visiting."

Akers, who holds offers from virtually every big time school in the country including Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State Ole Miss and several others, plans to make a silent commitment at the end of the summer and announce his verbal commitment at the Army All-American Bowl in January. Akers added that his meeting with the coaching staff was encouraging

"Coach (Jay) Graham, coach (Tim) Brewster and coach (Jimbo) Fisher showed me the blueprint they have for me and they think I can be the next man up after Dalvin Cook. They think I'm the guy and I am their guy," he said via 247Sports.

Fisher and Akers had a one-on-one conversation during the visit, which stressed how hard the 'Nole staff is recruiting Akers, who isn't necessarily in close proximity to Florida or Tallahassee.

"Jimbo's message was he doesn't recruit outside of Florida and Georgia a lot and there's a reason he's coming to get me."

Akers is attending Nike's The Opening this weekend in Beaverton, Or.
