Gainer, a four-star outside linebacker from Tallahassee, Florida, received an offer from Alabama assistant coach Brent Key.

"I called Coach (Brent) Key and he offered me; it was great," Gainer told BamaOnLine. "Anytime you can get offered by a big school like Alabama, it's always a great time."

Gainer's father, Herb, played football for the Seminoles. He plans to visit Alabama, and he also wants to visit Auburn, Texas, Ohio State and Virginia.

"Right now everybody is even," Gainer said. "Bama's a huge offer, definitely. They're one of my top schools, so I don't know yet. I won't know until this summer. I'll definitely try to have (my list) narrowed down by then, but I was trying to make a decision before the season starts."

Gainer is the No. 22 outside linebacker for the Class 2018 according to 247Sports.
