Florida State will be without an offensive lineman this season, thanks to a medical retirement. Senior offensive lineman Chad Mavety has medically disqualified from the team, and will be retiring from football due to a cardiac issue. Mavety, who was sidelined for spring football due to cardiac issues, officially announced he would be retiring from Florida State's football team on Tuesday.

Mavety appeared in nine games with eight starts for the Seminoles during his redshirt junior season in 2015.
