NFL insider Albert Breer acknowledged Tom Herman is a popular name not only in college football circles, but he was considered for two NFL gigs last season as well, per CBS.

As for where he goes after Houston's loss to Navy on Saturday, Breer noted he believes the highly-sought after coach will shift over to Texas:
"I think he'll be the coach at Texas in November. That's just my opinion, not based on anything anyone has told me," Breer said.
As for the NFL coaching jobs, with so many open last season, Herman's time to be considered for job may have passed. According to Breer, one team wanted to bring him in for an interview and may have acquired his services if they didn't land another coach.
"The NFL is intrigued by him," Breer told Mike & Seth. "Because of his acumen as a program builder, because of his intelligence, because of his mind for offense. He was on the preliminary list of two NFL teams last year."
Herman has put together an 18-2 record during his short tenure at Houston, with a Peach Bowl win under his belt as well.
The writing is on the wall that Charlie Strong could be on his way out, and all signs point to Herman being the top candidate for the Longhorns, LSU and possibly USC this offseason.
