Following 12 in the ACC, Frank Beamer might know a thing or two about the college football landscape.

When discussing the current state of college football Monday, Beamer couldn't help but talk up the SEC:

"You look at the stadiums, the passion that's in southern football. Not many of them are fighting other elements — pro football is not a direct conflict — so I think just the whole setting, what it's become, the stadium sizes, the competition," Beamer said to SEC Country. "It's probably, from top to bottom, the best conference going. I think all these things lead to that."

While the SEC has won eight of the past 10 national championships, it's tough to ignore the ACC's up-and-comers such as Florida State, Clemson and Miami.

"I think the coaching in the ACC is really very, very good, and the end result is going to be very good from top to bottom," Beamer continued.

If teams like Miami, North Carolina, Florida State and Clemson remain a top-10 force in the recruiting game, it might not be much longer before the ACC gets up with the SEC.
