Former Baylor pres gives baffling answer on keeping women safe at the school, will continue teaching

Unbelievable.

In the aftermath of head coach Art Briles leaving Baylor and athletic director Ian McCaw resigning after reports surfaced that the coaching staff disclosed sexual assault and/or dating violence allegations, thus not allowing the University to take the proper steps to investigate the reported issues, former president and chancellor Kenneth Starr has resigned, per ESPN.

Despite the issues surrounding the Bears football program, Starr will remain at the school to teach law. However, when the former president was pressed on the issues per ESPN and OTL, Starr admitted he "didn't know what was happening," regarding the allegations and he "willingly accepted responsibility," before noting the the school needs to "put this horrible experience behind us."

When asked if the school was doing a well enough job of keeping women safe, Starr said the following, per Dr. Saturday:

"In terms of our campus, as far as I know, absolutely," Starr said. "The episodes of which I'm aware — and I'm behind a veil of ignorance in part, I've been partially briefed but not fully briefed — every episode of which I'm aware happened off campus, not on campus. But we accept responsibility for that. We don't say well you're not within the geographic confines. You're not in one of our residence halls.

"I don't believe — this is my belief — that there is any episode on campus. And this is part of training. We need to train our young people. Be careful. And we are using a wonderful method called green dot of bystander intervention. We've been working on these for many many months but it's been a work in progress just as it has been around the nation.

"You cannot turn as a fellow student at a party — and we're an alcohol-free campus — it's not happening on campus to the best of my knowledge. They're off-campus parties, those are the venues where these bad things have happened."

Starr didn't stop there, though. Here are a few more gems from the interview:

How this man is being allowed to continue teaching at the university is unbelievable.
