Former five-star Bama DB officially set to enroll at new school

The former five-star will be at his new school next week, it appears.

It looks like former five-star defensive back Kendall Sheffield is officially set to join his new school.

After spending last year at JUCO Blinn College, the Alabama transfer will officially start classes with Ohio State next week, according to 247Sports. Sheffield had to wait until he finished his requirements at the JUCO before he could head to Ohio State.

Sheffield was a former five-star recruit of the 2015 class, and he decided to transfer from Alabama after just one season in Tuscaloosa. After sitting out the required year with Blinn College, Sheffield will be eligible to play with the Buckeyes in 2017 and he should have two years of eligibility remaining.

Sheffield will likely be able to provide a boost to a young Buckeyes defense, but he will have to compete for a spot with the rest of the talented young players that Urban Meyer and Ohio State and brought on campus over the past few years.
