Former four-star Louisville QB Kyle Bolin has announced his transfer decision

He'll have a chance to start.

Lamar Jackson is the reigning Heisman Trophy winner and, as you may expect, that means that he is the unquestioned starting quarterback for the Louisville Cardinals until his eligibility runs out or he bolts for the NFL. With that in mind, former four-star QB prospect Kyle Bolin, who started a handful of games before Jackson emerged in 2015, was on the transfer market and we now know where he is headed.

Bolin is on his way to Rutgers, where he immediately becomes the front-runner to be the starting quarterback in 2017. As a graduate transfer, the 6'3, 215-pound signal-caller is eligible immediately and, prior to being overtaken by Jackson, Bolin threw for 2,104 yards and 13 touchdowns in a Louisville uniform.

It is not always the case to see transfers become likely starters at the quarterback position in this manner, but Rutgers has a (very) weak depth chart at the position right now. Prior to making his way to Louisville, Bolin was an impressive prospect and he brings a great deal to the table from a talent standpoint.

Before deciding on Rutgers, Bolin reportedly considered Texas, Western Michigan, Northern Illinois, Cincinnati and others, but the Scarlet Knights won the recruiting battle and it could be an impactful addition for the team next season.
