Former Michigan State QB Connor Cook teed off on Michigan on social media

Connor Cook picked a bad week to go after Michigan.

The Michigan State Spartans have owned the Michigan Wolverines on the football field in the recent past and, even in a year in which Mark Dantonio's team is more than a 20-point underdog between the white lines, members of the Spartan family aren't being shy when it comes to taking shots against their rival. One of the more prominent examples came from former starting quarterback Connor Cook, who now plays for the Oakland Raiders, as he took to Instagram to call Michigan "scUM", among other things.

Cook's hashtag of "#7outof8", of course, refers to Michigan State's recent dominance in the series and, for the most part, this kind of trash talk is pretty normal for a rivalry week. Still, the Spartans have stumbled violently out of the gate, compiling a 2-5 record that is shocking to most observers, and "poking the bear" of an undefeated, top-five team seems ill-advised.

The Spartans will have opportunity, in their own backyard of East Lansing, to make a statement and pull off what would be a legendary upset on Saturday. We will see shortly if they are able to do just that.
