Four-star cornerback Tre Swilling (6-foot-1, 183 pounds, New Orleans, LA) is the son of former NFL Defensive Player of the Year and College Football Hall of Famer, Pat Swilling. It looks like the younger Swilling is looking to honor his father's legacy by committing to his father's alma mater: Georgia Tech.
Swilling is a big pickup for the Yellow Jackets; he is their second four-star recruit of the 2017 class according to Rivals, and their 12th commitment overall. Georgia Tech was falling behind early in this recruiting cycle, but they have started to pick things up with several commits in recent weeks.
Pat Swilling is one of Georgia Tech's best players of all time, as his name is even honored on one of the sideboards at Bobby Dodd Stadium. The All-American then went on to have an over decade-long NFL career, where he was named to five Pro Bowls and selected as the 1991 NFL Defensive Player of the Year.
Georgia Tech is now considered the favorite for one of Swilling's other sons, Bruce Jordan-Swilling. Jordan-Swilling is a four-star linebacker of the 2017 class.
